KwikTile – Ceramic Tile Adhesive – 20kg

A professional-grade, polymer-modified cementitious adhesive for fixing ceramic wall and floor tiles. Formulated for smooth trowelling, strong bond strength, and reduced slip, KwikTile delivers reliable results on residential and commercial projects.

Ideal Uses

  • Tiles: Ceramic (glazed/unglazed), mosaics, small to medium format

  • Areas: Kitchens, bathrooms, showers*, living areas, passages, light-duty commercial spaces

  • Substrates: Concrete, cured screeds, cement plaster/render, brickwork, fibre-cement board, primed gypsum surfaces

*For continuously wet areas, ensure proper waterproofing behind the tile.

Key Benefits

  • Strong adhesion with polymer modification for durable bonds

  • Non-slump / reduced slip for easier wall installation

  • Creamy, workable paste—spreads easily and wets out tile backs

  • Good open time & adjustability for accurate alignment

  • Interior & exterior suitability (protected exteriors)

Coverage (approx. per 20kg bag)

  • 6×6 mm notched trowel: ~5–6 m²

  • 8×8 mm notched trowel: ~3.5–5 m²

  • 10×10 mm notched trowel: ~2.5–4 m²
(Actual coverage varies with substrate flatness, trowel angle, and tile back.)

Mixing & Pot Life

  • Water addition: ~4.5–5.5 L clean water per 20 kg (add gradually to achieve a creamy, non-slumping paste)

  • Pot life: ~2–4 hours in temperate conditions

  • Open time: ~20–30 minutes; Adjustment time: ~10–20 minutes

  • Application temperature: 5–35 °C

Application Guide

  1. Prep: Substrates must be sound, clean, dry, and level. Remove dust, oils, paint, and laitance. Prime porous or gypsum surfaces as required.

  2. Trowel: Use a suitable notched trowel; ensure ≥80–100% adhesive contact on the back of tiles (back-butter larger/structured tiles if needed).

  3. Fixing: Press tiles firmly into wet adhesive, slide slightly, and beat in to collapse ridges.

  4. Grouting: Walls after ~12–24 h; floors after ~24–48 h (longer in cool/humid conditions).

  5. Traffic: Light foot traffic after ~24 h; full service once grout has cured.

Limitations

  • Not recommended for porcelain, vitrified, or large-format tiles unless specified by the manufacturer as suitable.

  • Not for metal, plastic, hardwood, or unstable/uncured substrates.

  • For submerged areas (pools, fountains) or heavy-duty industrial traffic, use a specialised adhesive.

Packaging, Storage & Safety

  • 20 kg moisture-resistant bag; colour typically Grey (white variant may be available—check stock).

  • Store dry, covered, off the floor; shelf life up to 12 months unopened.

  • Cementitious product is alkaline—wear gloves, eye/dust protection. Avoid contact with skin/eyes and inhalation of dust.
